...under dark moonless skies of Svetac Island, you remain breathless: billions of stars gathered in the shining trace of the Milky Way, as some precious gems glittering on a black velvet of night.
The beauty of the summer night sky, here, in this unpolluted area, is nothing less magnificent compared to a clear brilliance of winter skies.
By using your bare eyes, or with a pair of binoculars, you could enjoy the beauty of constellations spreading above the southern horizon: Scorpio, with its royal star orange-red Antares, Sagittarius, The Serpent Holder (Ophiucus) with The Serpent (Serpens Caput), Aquila, Sagitta, Delphinus…towards north…the immense beauty.
On nights enlightened by the Moon it is also interesting to follow its phases, especially the crescent to exposure of its full, bright “face”- the Full Moon*; this Celestial Traveller seems as it emerges from the very depths of the sea, large, mighty, brightening the sky…the sea of silver beneath…quiet and deep stillness around…
Each summer, from July 23rd to August 23rd, it is possible to observe the meteor streams, known as Perseids (arriving from the constellation of Perseus, above the northern horizon), reaching the peak between August 10th and 13th…from 2:00 A.M. till the sunrise....

And at the end...
or maybe better - at the
beginning:
W A R N I N G
Man, take care
not to go small
under the stars.
Let the soft straights
pour right through you
- the stars.
Regret nothing
when you cast your last look
at the stars.
Finally instead of dust
- turn into stars.
